Dessert Chips and Musing

My husband is showing off and doing P90X tonight. I am....watching. No, I WANT to be doing it with him, really, I do. But honestly, I am just now escaping the pounding headache and extreme nausea that has kept me down all day. So while he is grunting and being extremely manly, I am in the kitchen trying to fix his dinner and be productive.

Annnnnnd I tried a new recipe that is so easy you will be shocked and addicted.

Ready?

Here's what you need.

*flour tortilla
*cinnamon
*butter
*pure cane sugar

Take that tortilla and cut it into pieces. 4 to be exact. This is just one....I promise I can count.  I also promise I will take better care of my nails.........cause that's disgusting.

THERE are the four pieces.

Take some butter....I use butter made with nonfat yogurt--and about half the calories of regular butter. You can't tell a difference in the taste and my husband loves it.

Then you put the pieces on a pan and throw them in a 350 degree oven until they are slightly toasted.

Clean your microwave while you are waiting......and feel like an awesome wife.

Spread some butter on the slices until it is melting and looking all gorgeous....

Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar all over this gorgeousness and then pop it back in the oven for a few more minutes until the butter is setting into the tortilla.

 Doesn't that look awesome?

*chomp* nom nom nom nom.....

Now....spice up your life and dice up some fresh fruit into a "salsa" and use these dessert chips to dip into the fruit.

You won't regret it.

and by the way.....don't overdo the elbow grease on cleaning the microwave. Take 1/2 c. water in a microwave safe dish (preferably glass) and add 2-3 teaspoons of baking soda. Then microwave on high for 2 minutes. Then take a damp cloth and wipe away the grime inside. It will basically wipe away with little effort. Do it. It's awesome.
