"I Wanna Be Born Again"

*Her name is confidential because of hospital rules......
*Her condition is a difficult one that is dependent on her receiving a new organ, which may be months coming.
*Her stay in the hospital has been extensive.
*She finally opened up today and shared with me her life.
*I got to ask and to share.
*She thought she had to be in church and walk the aisle to "be born again."

Oh, precious reader, I got to tell her she didn't! I heard her ask me, for the first time in my life, "how do you become born again?" Such sweeter words were never heard.....

Today I sat as a young woman held both of my hands in a vicelike grip as she prayed to receive Christ. She prayed.....and prayed.....and prayed. How sweet it was to hear her talk to God and claim His way for hers. Because of hospital rules, I had to wear gloves and a mask while I visited with her....and I'm sure I broke all kinds of rules by wrapping my arms around her as she wept.

Tomorrow I turn 20 years old. This young woman was only four years older than I. She has walked many roads I can never understand--and she is suffering consequences that will haunt her forever. But today, that young woman started down a different path. And God let me be there to hold her hands and feel her tears soak through my shirt. I will cherish this day forever. Praise be to Jesus for another sister in the faith!

Because He lives,
Sarah
