The Pros and Cons of Being a Health Nut

Being the sort of person I am, you can always count on me researching SOMETHING health related in my spare time. In fact, it is not only my break time, but is also my distraction from other important tasks...like homework. I have been pondering the pros and cons of this slight obsession lately.

Pros: When the rules are followed, I feel amazing. I have energy, I feel a rise in my moods, I lose weight, and look in the mirror with a different self-assessment. My mother calls me to ask questions...she texts me with new facts, and she emails me with new websites to look at and be amazed (Example). I research and know facts about why you are breaking out with fever blisters, you know how to treat them wisely, and you find appreciation for God's creation and the nutritional laws He laid down at the beginning of time. I will explain more later....
Cons: I have been introduced as a health nut. My mother tells people I am her "health conscious daughter"....I can't always fully enjoy food from a mexican restaurant because I know the caloric content and lack of nutritional density of what I am putting into my body. Because I have helped my body become used to healthy fats, oils, fruits, vegetables, meats, and ingredients--I have broken myself of the ability to enjoy other now common "luxuries." Now, when I intake aspartame, caffeine, too much sugar, grease, fried foods, or cheese my body goes into rebellion. It doesn't want to metabolize and I promise I can be crabby and lethargic all at the same time.

One of the most wonderful/nerdy things about this obsession of mine is the love of grocery store health sections and nutrition stores--like Drug Emporium. Here is proof of my trip today....
I will let you know how the stevia works ;)
Be ready--my all-out health post comes soon.

I've been reading so much nutritional stuff lately and my family has given me this label too. But I do feel better than I ever have. It's interesting for sure!
