Wednesday Night Wonders

What a day.....I haven't stopped moving since I got up! I admit, I didn't wake up at 5 or 6 like I usually do. With this sickness I have been sleeping as long as I can. I didn't let myself wake up until nearly 8. I got up, fixed myself a bowl of Kix with peaches and soy milk and read Psalms while I ate. I have missed starting my days that way. It was so very refreshing and the best way to kick-start my energy...whatever there was left of it.

I didn't get to shower before I had to be in class--my Bible time was more important this morning. I went to Visual Arts in overly baggy sweat pants and a sweatshirt that I wore in my heavier days. Add my cammo ball cap and I looked like I was SICK SICK SICK. I didn't feel well at all. I think it was beginning to settle in my sinuses and I was suffering from a massive headache.

After class I went to the walk-in clinic. I told the doctor I had nearly 50 pages of research papers to write and I couldn't be sick. I asked him for a shot...and he agreed. He said I had swollen lymph nodes, red throat, and prolly sinus problems. He was sweet about it...he let his nurse give me the shot in my hip. This was my first rear shot and I can't say I'm a major fan. I tend to tense when someone sticks a piece of metal in my backside...and that doesn't help the pain or the afternoon tenderness.

But guess what, "I HAVE ENERGY!" Ok ok...as much as a senior in college can have. Between the shot and the antibiotics he prescribed me I am thinking I might survive now.

After the doctor, I dropped off my prescription, came home, made a pot of amazing stew, boiled some eggs, all for my supper later. Then I went and picked up my pills, wrote a poem, read for class, ate a salad, went to visit a professor about my writing, went to class, came back, showered, picked up my room, worked on homework, went to church, visited with a new friend, came back, worked out, and now I am finally settling down to do MORE homework. In four weeks we will be in finals and nearly to my last full semester EVER!!!!!

It's been a good day. I needed the doctor, the extra energy, and MOST IMPORTANTLY: the Bible study this morning. I know that if I had not started my day that way nothing would have gone quite as it needed to.

If I could encourage in one way tonight, I would say make the Bible time your first priority. It started my attitude the way it needed to be and in turn my outlook on the day. Why do you think King David said, "early in the morning will I rise up and seek You"?

I'm still learning....
I'm still surviving...
and I'm marveling at what God is doing in my life. I can't wait to see where He takes it =)))

Blessings from our King,
Sarah
