I Trust You

I remember when I was little Daddy took it upon himself to teach me to swim. He took me to the lake and laid me on my back--holding me in his hands and telling me to relax. RELAX?! I was six years old! No way was I going to relax in deep water! Daddy would try to calm my panicking legs and arms as he asked, "I won't let you go--do you trust me?"

Oh the question oh a lifetime..."do you trust me?" Now picture with me Jesus as He holds us in the deep waters of life. Our stiff bodies are in his hands and we kick frantically--so afraid of drowning. He asks us again, "Child--I won't let you go. Relax! Don't you trust me?"

Today I was reminded of this thing called trust. In church words this is called faith. I have been finding myself forced to rely on this faith a lot lately. I have always thought that I had a lot of faith--but today I realized just how much I question God and His plan. This verse the other day was so convicting to me...

"Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!" *Luke 1:45*

What a testament and conviction this is to me of the faith I am to have. God has encouraged me and revealed some things that I believe He has for my future. But in my haste--in my excitement for the future I tend to rush through the "right now" and desire instead the excitement of tomorrow. When I do this I tend to begin to doubt God because I don't see His promises coming to fruition in my time-table. This is a lack of faith on my part; this is sin.

Do you catch the excitement and urgency of this verse? Few verses have exclamation marks after them in the scriptures. But this one drips of excitement. Read it like it was written......you might want to step into a private room because if you are like me, you feel the need to shout it out. And when you do, let the words ring in your ears in a reverberating echo--even when we can't see it, we have to believe what the Lord has shown to us will be accomplished. We have to believe in the dark what He showed us in the light.

I have to wake up every day--face the doubts of life every day--and say, "Yes, God, I trust You."

I cherish you, sweet reader! Trust in God--"if we are faithless, He will remain faithful, for He cannot disown Himself." *2 Timothy 2:13*
In the service of the King,
Sarah
